Hi, In June, I relocated to Asheville from the East Bay area of San Francisco where I lived for the past 5 years. Prior to that I had lived in Atlanta and was raised in Memphis. I'm in Asheville now, looking for a better economic situation. I was working on a teacher training program in Science in California before moving here. Now I'm looking to get my North Carolina license and teach in the local area by getting a Master's in teaching at WCU. Right now, I'm living with family and working in a callcenter to make ends meet. I'm liberal in my political and social outlook. I've also had the chance to explore my spiritually over the years and have had a number of significant experiences in this area. I was raised in a conservative Methodist family but went through experiences with the Episcopal church, Soto Zen and a Yoga mediation group where I spent some time managing an ashram. At this time, I'm not attached to any particular system of belief and would probably class myself as a social justice Christian atheist. I'm just trying to assimilate what I've learned and be a good influence upon myself and others. I also prefer a vegetarian lifestyle. I like to play music, was trained as a musician and have also worked professionally in that area. I like a variety of music but I'm currently nursing an ambition to do music from Woody Guthrie's Dustbowl period as a comment on the current social situation. I'm also pretty handy since I was raised in a construction family and worked in the industry for several years. My life has also taken me into a variety of areas ranging from oil rigs, the Marines, and 15 years in corporate IT. I'd like to think that I could handle a wide variety of situations and relate to different kinds of people. I'm very well read. Ideally, I'd like to find someone for a LTR but, at this time, I'd also be open to meeting people socially to expand my circle of friends. I like being around women and enjoy their company.
