Or walks on the bike trails? Holding hands in the movies? What about being serenaded? Do you like good conversation? Or well written prose directed at you personally? Do you believe that respect self respect and respect for the person you are with means there is never any excuse for losing your temper or using foul language? Do you believe that romance is life at its very best, as it can be and ought to be? If so, are you over 40, over 50 or even over 60? Although no one believes it, I am. Do you have children still at home? I do, although mine is now substantially independent, and I suffer from empty nest syndrome for which I did not plan. Not that I planned to be a parent at my age, never mind a single parent, in the first place. One day, far away, I had to make a choice, and I chose life, never mind it would tie me up for 20 years or more. I did that in about two minutes no one ever accused me of not being decisive. Are you lonely? If you have a completely full social calendar, and consider the idea of seeing someone every day, perhaps more than once, outrageous, than you are not what I am looking for. If, instead, you prefer to eat with someone, and do all sorts of public and private activities with someone, perhaps we should talk. This does not mean you have no children or grandchildren, job or other activities I do and I expect you to as well. It does mean I don't want to go days or weeks on end with zero contact. Do you live in Anchorage or nearby? If so, perhaps we should talk. Would you like not to have to hide your intelligence for fear of offense? If so, we really should talk. Other men say they like intelligent women. I mean it.
